Eminem and his music publisher has filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against Apple for the second time.

According to The Detroit News, the lawsuit was filed Monday in the US District Court in Detroit, and states that Apple is violating copyright by selling Eminem’s music through iTunes.

The lawsuit is stated to may prove to be a conflict with the Eminem’s label, Universal, rather than Apple.

Eminem’s music publisher and copyright manager, Eight Mile Style and Martin Affiliated, claim Apple isn’t permitted to sell music by the artist because Eminem has not agreed to grant his label, Universal, the rights to sell such music and never authorized Universal to allow the downloads. (more…)

Chicago rapper Twista has been dropped from the McDonald’s live 10-city tour because of his lyrical content, the fast food chain announced Saturday after he was named in a local community billboard campaign.

“Although we respect free speech and artistic expression, we do not condone or perpetuate derogatory language,” McDonald’s said in a statement.

The Rev. Michael Pfleger, pastor of St. Sabina Catholic Church, which launched the billboard campaign, applauded McDonald’s decision to cut Twista from its brand.

Houston rapper Paul Wall will be heading out on his second USO Tour to perform for troops stationed in the Persian Gulf region. The rapper toured earlier this year with comedian Jamie Kennedy in the Persian Gulf for the “Jamie Kennedy’s Hip-Hop Comedy Tour”.

“Being a part of a USO tour and performing for the troops is amazing,” Paul Wall explained via a statement. “It’s so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and to forget what’s happening overseas — this is my way of letting them know I realize what they are sacrificing and am truly grateful.”

Reportedly the ex-wife of Eminem, Kim Mathers, may be pregnant with his second child. MediaTakeOut reported that they have been receiving several reports and hearing whispers (rumors) that Eminem and his on-again-off-again wife have reconciled. The two share joint custody of their daughter Hailie Jade Mathers, while reports state that Eminem has full custody of Kim Mathers sister’s daughter, Alaina Marie Scott (Laney).

In 2004, Eminem’s former nanny Jennifer Watkins aka Jennifer Pacheco and the cousin of Kim Mathers stated that she had a secret affair with the rapper while he was divorcing in 2001 and got pregnant by the rapper.

Usher, 28, and his pregnant fiancee Tameka Foster, 37, called off their wedding Yahoo! reported. The wedding was reportedly scheduled for today at music/record executive LA Reid’s home in the Hampton’s.

Usher’s publicist, Patti Webster stated, “It was announced today that the wedding ceremony for Usher Raymond, IV and Tameka Foster was canceled. No additional information will be given regarding the circumstances of the cancellation, but we hope the privacy of this matter will be respected.”

50 Cent has reportedly filed a $1 million lawsuit against a New York internet advertising company “Traffix, Inc.” for using his image without permission after his management company learned about the ad via a page on MySpace. The banner featured the rapper on a flash animation walking back and forth with a photographer which prompted the viewer to “shoot the rapper and win $5,000 or 5 ringtones”. Although the game didn’t use 50 Cent’s name, the character resembled him greatly.

Cynthia Reid the mother of a 14-year-old boy is outraged by G-Unit member Tony Yayo (Marvin Bernard) for assaulting her son.The mother reportedly lashed out at the rapper due to his decision to plead not guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge. The rapper appeared in court on July 24 and rejected a deal of nine months in prison for slapping the young teen who is stated to be the son of music executive Jimmy “Henchmen” Rosemond an alleged rival of G-Unit.

Singer Mya Harrison, was allegedly spotted with her friends on Tuesday night at the Spotlight Live in Times Square singing her own songs at the karaoke restaurant. Maybe she was just getting her practice in…. who knows.

Currently the singer has been working on her fourth studio album “Liberation” on and off since 2004 which is expected to be released by Motown Records on September 18, 2007. The album will feature guest appearances by rappers Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg and Charli Baltimore. The first single released was “Lock U Down” featuring Lil Wayne and the latest release is ‘Ridin’ which is definitely hot. (more…)
