Take a Behind The Scenes look at Akon in the studio as he forms his current album Freedom, along with the people who played a part in his career and more. His mother Kine Thiam speaks about how Akon, when he was younger, would ask to come to rehearsal with his father and they would let him play his drum and he would sing. Kine Thiam states that Akon didn’t get into hip-hop until he was in high school.
Mark “Exit” Goldchild, Akon’s recording engineer also speaks and states he’s the one who helps make Akon sound beautiful. Exit states that he mixes Akon’s songs on the spot because he doesn’t like to wait.
Akon’s Konvict Music recording artist Red Cafe also gets some time in on the video and tells Akon that his album Freedom needs to do well so that he can slide right up in there.
