Rapper DMX is checking into rehab, Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, VH1’s reality television series where celebrities are treated in a 21-day detoxification program by Dr. Drew Pinsky and his staff for various drug and alcohol addictions.

According to celebrity blogger and tv personality Perez Hilton, of celebrity blog site PerezHilton.com, rapper DMX will be heading to the Pasadena Recovery Center in Los Angeles for the 3rd season of the VH1 reality television show, via confirmation from Bob Forrest, one of Dr. Drew’s Celebrity Rehab resident drug counselors.

DMX will be joining a well-known list of celebrities who have been treated by Dr. Drew including actor Daniel Baldwin, actress and retired WWF professional wrestler Chyna Doll, former Family Matters’ child actress Jaimee Foxworth, actress and model Brigitte Nielsen, former Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler, actress and Playboy magazine covergirl/supermodel Amber Smith, amongst others.

According to a prediction by Perez Hilton, DMX likely won’t be set “straight.”

“DMX is probably just doing the show because they pay their “celebs” and he needs drug money,” the celebrity gossip site posted up on yesterday.

Well one thing’s for sure, the rapper DMX is definitely no newbie to troubles stemming from alleged drug problems as he’s had multiple arrests related to drugs, which his latest guilty plea to his latest drug charge landed the rapper in jail for 90 days.

This is also not the first time we’ve heard of DMX possibly starring in a reality tv show as the rapper, in an interview from jail where the rapper’s serving 90 days, DMX mentioned he would be creating a reality show while he was in jail called “Pain and Perseverance.”

No word on if that show will air or when, however on a reported episode of the DMX plugged show, which contradicts him filming from inside jail, a description states “DMX revisits a rehab centre where he stayed as an adolescent.”

“Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew” is reportedly set for a fall 2009 premiere.

In related news, along with a third season of Celebrity Rehab, there will also be a reported new spin-off entitled Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew coming to TV screens as well, which, quite obviously, will deal with people and their sexual addiction.

The “Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew” series is also reportedly set to premiere in fall of 2009.
