Hip-Hop producer, Demetrius ‘Shawty Redd’ Stewart, known for working on hits such as Young Jeezy’s ‘Hypnotize’ and ‘Who Dat’ and producing Snoop Dogg’s ‘Sexual Eruption’ as well as Gucci Mane’s ‘Trap House’ has turned himself in to authorities for murdering a man in his home.

According to reports, in the early morning hours of New Years Day, Demetrius Stewart professionally known as Shawty Red was at his home with other individuals who have been identified as not intruders but guests. Reportedly, an argument ensued with one individual who threatened violence against the music producer.

Shawty Redd feared for his life after being threatened and felt his life was in jeopardy and retrieved his firearm for self-defense. As a result, an individual was shot and killed, not intentionally.

Immediately, thereafter Shawty Redd went to the Henry County police Department and surrendered himself after the unfortunate accident. At approximately 5:30, crime scene units were seen leaving Shawty Redd’s house in Henry County.

Apparently the two were friends. No word on what the true motive was.

Shawty Redd was booked for the charge for the murder of one and was scheduled for an arraignment today (Sat. Jan. 2) at the Henry County Courthouse in Georgia. The last information available on the case was that no bond had been set as authorities are still investigating and he is expected to be back in court on January 12, 2010.
