Paula Abdul To Return With Simon Cowell On ‘The X Factor’ Post American Idol?!
Shortly after American Idol’s judge and executive producer Simon Cowell announced that he will be leaving after the 9th season which premieres today (Jan. 12) on FOX, as reported on www.HipHopRX.com, the rumor mill has already started with who the replacement might be and whether former American Idol judge Paula Abdul will be joining him on his U.S. version of “The X Factor.”
According to celebrity gossip site TMZ, sources have told them that the famed choreographer and singer Paula Abdul has been in contact with Simon Cowell and the two have had talks about her being a judge on “The X Factor” which is scheduled for FOX in 2011.
Remember now, Paula Abdul left on last year after her contract wasn’t renewed for an undisclosed amount. Isn’t it possible they had this already planned out and this was just a part of the plan? It kind of makes you wonder, doesn’t it?
Meanwhile, Simon Cowell who went on radio with Ryan Seacreast today stated that you’ll have to wait and see who’ll be joining him on “The X Factor.” When also questioned about who the host of “The X Factor” will be, Simon Cowell responded with that they have the host of the show already in place and you’ll have to wait to see this also.
This seems like this would be the perfect reunion for the two (Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul) especially since it may have no upper age limit (no age restriction other than 16+) like the original Britain’s “The X Factor.” In the past, the two both have expressed that anyone should be able to compete as long as they have talent and showmanship which was not possible with American Idol.
Now the only thing we’re waiting to see is who will head the judges table for “The X Factor.” Will the original three judges of American Idol move on over to “The X Factor” or will there be Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and a face such as Sharon Osbourne or Piers Morgan? How about a face like will.i.am, Robin Thicke, Nick Cannon or R. Kelly? The list could go on and on.
