American Idol Larry Platt Pants On The Ground performance + lyrics
63 year old Larry Platt, who calls himself a ‘Four-Star General’ for the Civil Rights, is a cool cat to be his age or any age. He didn’t show up in front of American Idol judges to become the next big thing, all ‘General’ wanted to do was send a message to the youth in his Atlanta neighborhood, pull your pants up!

Platt sang a song that he wrote entitled ‘Pants On The Ground.’ Though he didn’t meet the age requirements for appearing on American Idol, he did in fact whoa the judges! ‘General’ Platt had the judges dying of laughter when he sang his lyrics:

“Pants on the ground. Pants on the ground. Lookin’ like a fool with your pants on the ground…”

Simon says he had a “horrible feeling” that the ‘Pants on the ground’ song would be a “hit” and he was right!

“Pants On The Ground” has the internet buzzing with over 1 million views on YouTube in just the couple of days since the video was uploaded.

Larry Platt is known for his work in the 1960s with the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. Platt even has his own day in Georgia, for commending his “priceless and immeasurable contributions to society.”
