Rapper Nas Says He’s Paying Ex-Wife Kelis Too Much! ‘It’s Cheaper To keep Her!’

The on-going divorce battle between rapper Nas and his estranged wife, Kelis, is heating up and getting hotter by the day. Details anyone?

As reported on www.HipHopRX.com, Nas was ordered to pay Kelis $87,000 in back spousal and child support as well as $10,000 a month in spousal support until he pays off the $299,015.50 that he owes her. Nas agreed to pay up until now.

Nas, along with his lawyer Mark Kaplan, recently told the judge that he cannot afford the payments to his ex-wife Kelis that the courts had previously ordered him to pay. His monthly income is around $150,000 but he says that he makes “substantially less than that amount” and wants the judge to take a look at his financial books.

Nas and Kelis were together 4 years and split up in 2009 resulting in their recent divorce.

No word on whether the judge agreed or will agree to lower Nas’ payments to Kelis.
