Rapper Petey Pablo surrendered to the police after a warrant was issued for him after allegedly trying to smuggle a gun in the airport. The rapper turned himself over to the FEDS in North Carolina on Wednesday.
As reported on www.HipHopRx.com, the rapper had a handgun in his luggage which he stated that he forgot was in it. According to Petey Pablo he had took the gun some time ago from a friend who was talking non-sense about doing something stupid with the gun and so, to prevent anything from happening, he took the gun and threw it in his carrying bag.
Reportedly, Petey Pablo was called to book a flight and he didn’t check what was all left in his bag. When he got ready to go through a check point, the gun was discovered.
According to authorities, Petey Pablo is a liar and knew that handgun was stolen and was in his handbag. The rap artist, born Moses Barrett III, was indicted by a grand jury and charged with possession of a stolen firearm and attempting to take the gun onto an airplane.
After being picked up by the FEDS, Petey Pablo was released on his own recognizance.
Petey Pablo agreed to report to a U.S. probation officer and to submit a travel itinerary one month before traveling and agreed to submit to drug testing and will refrain from excessive alcohol. So Petey will get a chance to still drink, but not get stinky drunk.
Pablo is expected back in court in November. According to TMZ, court documents state that the rapper is unable to afford a lawyer himself so he’s using a public defender.
