Chart topping alternative hip-hop music group the Black Eyed Peas are set to perform for Super Bowl halftime on February 6, 2011. The group was announced to have been selected during the Saints vs Cowboys game.

The Black Eyed Peas (will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo, and Fergie) will be joining the list of former halftime performers which included Prince, the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, The Who, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and U2.

The Super Bowl XLV halftime game airs on FOX February 6th and will take place at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

In other news, the Black Eyed Peas is set to release their 6th studio album The Beginning on Tuesday, November 30th. The album The Beginning include the songs The Time (Dirty Bit) released October 20th, “Do It Like This,” released November 15th and Light Up the Night which was released November 22nd.
