It seems that LMFAO are now locked in a dispute over the fortune that they have amassed from their hit songs.
The electro-pop duo, Redfoo and Sky Blu, are reportedly headed their separate ways and booking separate DJ appearances at clubs.
Their hits, including Party Rocking and Every Day I’m Shufflin’, have shot both their careers to the top of the billboards and gained them fame and fortune.
They were even able to perform alongside Madonna during the Superbowl halftime show. But ever since then, the singers have seemed to be promoting themselves as single artist instead of the hip hop duo that got them to where they are now.
‘Redfoo has always been promoting himself, doing his own thing,’ a source told the New York Post.
This means Redfoo has been scoring more $100,000-a-night DJ shows than Sky Blu, according to the source.
It is understood Redfoo’s use of the band’s Party Rock title for his own events have been his prime marketing tool.
Sky Blu performed Tuesday at the three-year anniversary party of the Chandelier Room at the W Hoboken. He told the crowd it was his first performance in three months.
LMFAO are planning a world tour together with shows beginning in Sweden in May. More news on this as it developes.
