Big Daddy Kane Visited Brooklyn’s Barclays Center

News

Two Brooklyn emcee legends performed on Barclay’s center, Big Daddy Kane and Jay-Z.

Jay-Z was representing Brooklyn all night during his performance on Friday, September 28, 2012. Since the reopening of Brooklyn’s Barclay Center, Jay-Z took the role of picking the artists that will be performing for the entire week. He has been surprising all of Brooklyn with the legends he brings and the fact that the performances are always 100% energetic.

He performed “Where I’m From” and “Brooklyn Go Hard” to represent his city. Jay-Z even covered Notorious B.I.G.’s tracks such as “Kick In The Door” and “Juicy.”

The special and important performance of the night which became a tribute to Brooklyn was when Jay-Z brought out Big Daddy Kane. Jay stepped aside to allow the legend to perform his classic tracks, “Ain’t No Half Stepping,” “Set It Off” and “Warm It Up Kane.”

In Jay-Z’s early career, Big Daddy Kane was an instrumental man and he helped out Jay-Z in some singles, “Show & Prove” and took him on tour with him in the ‘90s.

The night Jay-Z repaid his mentor on stage he stated, “Big Daddy Kane was before me, before B.I.G., we gotta understand our history.”
