Public Enemy will be joining Randy Newman, Heart, Donna Summer and more in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Public Enemy was nominated this year and its officially been set that they’ll be included into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Rolling Stones has reported, that the group will be joining Albert King, Donna Summer, Rush, Randy Newman and Heart in the class of 2013. Quincy Jones and Lou Adler will be receiving the Ahmet Ertegun Award for non-performers. Not many hip-hop groups make it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but the ones that do make it are the lucky ones.
Public Enemy becomes the fourth hip-hip group to be included in the Hall of Fame. Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Run-DMC and Public Enemy were honored with inductions. In the future they will be adding more groups, but for now they are taking everything into consideration and slowly reviewing the artists that will be the next to be included in the Hall of Fame.
The ceremony will be held on April 18, 2013 at the Nokia Theater and will be broadcasted on HBO on May 18, 2013.
