Following the news that rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg has left Geffen/Interscope Records, home to the rapper for the past ten years, the rapper has now teamed with MTV for a global deal. The deal includes a weekly variety talk show filmed at Los Angeles nightclub Kress, “Dogg After Dark” which premieres Tuesday, February 17, at 8PM CST/9 p.m. ET. Snoop Dogg will also be releasing a new album entitled “Malice in Wonderland” with global distribution, marketing and promotion from MTV and music from Snoop Dogg’s music catalog via the video game “Rock Band.”

Jermaine Dupri (JD) is in the studio in Vegas with Usher, Johnta, B. Cox and others as they prep and begin work on Usher’s new album. In his ‘Living The Life’ v-blog, JD talks about Bow Wow possibly losing all his money in Vegas and may have ‘vamped off’ because of it. For fans that didn’t know, Bow Wow was sick the other day and JD states he believes he has heard he’s gotten sick yet again.

G-Unit’s rapper and businessman 50 Cent has released his latest song and next single entitled ‘I Get It In,’ off the album Before I Self Destruct, which the song is produced by Dr. Dre. The first single from Before I Self Destruct was “Get Up,” which has gotten great response but according to 50, “It’s not the strongest effort” on the album. “It’s just a great start for me,” stated 50. The song ‘I Get It In,’ reportedly made it’s debut on Hot 97 with DJ Funkmaster Flex who was giving signs of of approval throughout the record.

Although rapper and young businessman DeAndre “Soulja Boy Tell’em” Way has dominated in ringtone sales, dominated in YouTube impressions through his popular YouTube channel and dominated the MySpace craze with over 100 million song plays and almost a million friends, reports are circulating that Soulja Boy’s newest album “iSouljaBoyTellEm” is expected to only sell around 35,000 copies in it’s first week, according to Hits Daily Double. iSouljaBoyTellEm features the single “Bird Walk,” which is much like Soulja Boy’s dance craze song “Crank dat” being that it introduces a new dance but with not as much popularity as Crank dat maybe this turn around. The album also features the single Kiss Me Thru The Phone featuring Sammie.

Rapper Bow Wow announced on video that his new album ‘New Jack City Part 2′ which has went through multiple name changes will be coming out in March 2009 and that he has just shot two videos for it. The rapper goes to state that he told you he’s the best in 2009. In addition to telling fans about the news, in the video, Bow Wow spits a rhyme over Ron Browz Jumpin Out Da Window rapping, “…by 2010 I’mma make Jermaine a billionaire/don’t compare these rappers to me/They don’t even stand a chance like….”

T.I.’s song ‘Live Your Life‘ featuring Rihanna is topping the Billboard Hot 100 charts this week at #1 pushing Beyonce’s ‘Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)’ down to #2, while Britney Spears, on the other hand, is topping the Billboard 200 album charts with her new ‘Circus’ album.

This is T.I. sixth non-consecutive week at the top of the charts.

Ciara has announced that her long awaited album, Fantasy Ride, which was supposed to be released December 9 then January 09, will officially be pushed back until later next year 2009, around late spring is expected. “Right now, we are anticipating it for spring 2009,” a Zomba Records spokesperson said in a statement.

In a behind the scenes video look at the making of her album artwork with comics artist Bernard Chang, Ciara herself states that the making of her artwork has been ongoing for months and it’s one of the reasons Fantasy Ride was delayed.
