The New York Post is drawing criticism for a troubling cartoon which appears to link President Barack Obama to a dead crazed monkey / chimpanzee. In the media, on blog web sites across the net as well as civil rights activist the Rev. Al Sharpton, many are outraged at the possible linking of the president with a rabid chimp.

Etta James, 71, born Jamesetta Hawkins has caused quite an uproar with remarks she made while performing on last week. The blues/soul singer stated, “You guys know your president, right? You know the one with the big ears? (’Yeah we know’em!’ [the crowd shouts with cheers]) Wait a minute, he ain’t my president, he might be yours — he ain’t my president. But I tell you that woman [Beyonce Knowles] he had singing for him singing my song, she gon’ get her ass whipped. The great Beyoncé … she ain’t mine… but I can’t stand Beyoncé. She had no business up there, singing up there on a big ol’ president day … gon’ be singing my song that I’ve been singing forever,” Etta James said in the midst of screams and cheers from the crowd.

Barack and Michelle Obama Waves To Crowd at The Obama Inaugural Celebration
President-elect Barack Obama and wife Michelle Obama walked down the steps of Lincoln Memorial to a crowd of thousands for “We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration” on Sunday, January 18, 2009 marking the beginning of the Obama inauguration as the 44th President of The United States of America.

Obama did a speech addressing the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and the economic crisis.

“In the course of our history, only a handful of generations have been asked to confront challenges as serious as the ones we face right now. Our nation is at war. Our economy is in crisis. The true character of our nation is revealed not during times of comfort and ease, but by the right we do when the moment is hard. I ask you to help me reveal that character once more, and together, we can carry forward as one nation, and one people, the legacy of our forefathers that we celebrate today,” Obama stated.

Black Eyed Peas music artist and producer will.i.am premiered his track, “It’s A New Day,” on the Oprah Winfrey Show on Friday, November 7, 2008 following Barack Obama’s win over John McCain for U.S. President-Elect on November 4th. The song “It’s A New Day” follows behind his previous song supporting the campaign of President-Elect Barack Obama “Yes We Can”, which he released in January 2008 that was directed by Jesse Dylan.

Democrat Senator Barack Obama will officially be the 44th U.S. President in which his opponent for the presidential seat Republican Senator John McCain told his group of loyal supporters with Sarah Palin by his side, “The American people have spoken” and Barack Obama will be “my President.”

Before speaking in front of more than 100,000 people in Chicago, Illinois after his projected winning was announced across broadcasting networks, Barack Obama graced the stage with wife Michelle Obama and their two daughters Sasha and Malia.
