Fat Joe Switches to Southpaw on new Album ”Me, Myself and I”

Written by admin on Friday, November 17th, 2006 in Music, Fat Joe.

Fat Joe
For nearly fifteen years, the rap veteran and hip hop legend Joseph Antonio Cartagena, better known as ‘Fat Joe’ from Bronx, New York, has been in the game dropping albums. Now, Joe is back with his seventh solo album, entitled “Me, Myself & I,” which will be dropping on November 14th. Though 13 years in the game, when many other rappers felloff years before that, Fat Joe has shown he plans to stand on solid ground; which is evident in the first single off the album, “Make It Rain” featuring Lil Wayne. With the South being a much more major market than in the past Fat Joe makes it clear he’s no hater and isn’t afraid of change with lyrics like “Now why is everybody so mad at the South for/Change your style up/Switch to Southpaw.”

Joe’s size, though large in person and in career, hasn’t slowed the rapper down at the least as he has been on the grind on the road doing promo in L.A., Atlanta, Miami, Chicago last week and is heading to New York, Philly, Wash D.C, Richmond and back to Atlanta for the Hip Hop Awards next week.

You can also catch Fat Joe on radio personality Angie Martinez show on HOT 97 November 14th at 3 p.m.

In related news, Joe recently lent his voice to the new movie “Happy Feet,” about a penguin named Mumble, who is an aspiring singer, that will be released in theatres November 17th. “Happy Feet” features Robin Williams, Hugh Jackman, Elijah Wood (voice of Mumble) and Brittany Murphy. The short movie summary is as follows:

In the great nation of Emperor Penguins, deep in Antarctica, you’re nobody unless you can sing–which is unfortunate for Mumble, who is the worst singer in the world. He is born dancing to his own tune–tap dancing. Though Mumble’s mom, Norma Jean (voice of Nicole Kidman), thinks this little habit is cute, his dad, Memphis (voice of Hugh Jackman), says it “just ain’t penguin.”
