Missy Elliott’s Block Party Album Delayed

Although Missy Elliott was eyeing an August release and then a September release for her upcoming studio album “Block Party, it has been pushed back to November 11th. Missy Elliot’s album “Block Party” features production from Souldiggaz, Danjahandz, Pharrell, T-Pain, Pointguard and Timbaland with an appearance by Melanie B (Melanie Brown/Spice Girls) amongst others.

When describing the album, Missy Elliot states it is hip-hop with some U.K. hip-hop sound to it and that the album will have quite a few dance tracks on it.

The lead single for the album “Ching-a-Ling” made it rounds on January 9, 2008, and managed to make the lead single for the soundtrack of Step Up 2 the Streets.

Missy Elliott brings a twist to the ‘Doritos Collisions’ commercial. She’ll be appearing in a number of commercials for the company under an endorsement agreement which include online interactive ads, print and an exclusive music track created my Missy.

Missy Elliot Blows Out Birthday Candles
Missy Elliot celebrated her 36th birthday over the weekend in the South Hamptons on Thursday night with a number of guest celebrities. Missy sat at a balloon-filled table in the VIP section, where she and her crew drunk champagne, Grey Goose and Patron before blowing out the candles on a two-tiered birthday cake.

The former G-Unit singer is stated to have been sexually harassed on occasions during her time with G-Unit and currently has no concerns about 50 Cent or Yayo.

Since the departure, Olivia has started a Publications company/Record company called MAU www.MusicAmericaUnderground.com and is working on new music with Ne-yo, Missy Elliott & Rodney Jerkins. Olivia is stated to also be working on a Lingerie line & Fragrance line that will both be released through Victoria Secrets.

Keyshia Cole
Keyshia Cole is reported to have finished working on her second album, “Just Like You” and now has a brand new track has surfaced titled “Let It Go” featuring Missy Elliot and Lil Kim with a remake of “Juicy Fruit” with a twist. Sources tell HipHopRX that we should expect feature appearances from R.Kelly, Young Jeezy, Anthony Hamilton, Keith Sweat, 50 Cent, Oliva John Legend, Jagged Edge and production from DJ Clue, Tony! Toni! Toné!!, Trackstarz, a guest appearance from Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and others.

Sources also expect the album to release July 23, 2007, but it’s subject to change.
