George Clooney along with Haitian-born rapper/activist Wyclef Jean, founder of the Yele Haiti Foundation, and CNN’s Anderson Cooper will be simultaneously hosting a telethon entitled ‘Hope for Haiti,’ to give aid to the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
Mr. Clooney will host from Los Angeles while Wyclef Jean will host from New York and the CNN anchor, Anderson Cooper, will be in Haiti.

The Haitian born musician, Wyclef Jean, founder of Yele Haiti Foundation, held a press conference at the Sheraton Hotel in Manhattan to defend his organization against accusations that money donated was going directly into his pockets. In the video shown, Wyclef says that not only are the accusations not true but he is disgusted by them.

Jimmy Alexandre, known as simply ‘Jimmy O’ was on his way to the studio to work on his mixtape when he was killed by falling debris during Haiti’s 7.0 earthquake. Jimmy O was identified on Friday (Jan. 15th) by a passport that was found on his body.
Jimmy O was a member of Wyclef Jean’s Yele Haiti Foundation and well known in Haiti for his music. Not only did he contribute to the community, Jimmy O was married and a loving father to his three children.

Despite all Wyclef Jean’s efforts to raise money, be hands on, write a plea to government and President Barack Obama, developing a celebrity telethon and more to help Haiti and the Haitian people, the rapper/music producer/social activist’s organization Yéle Haiti Foundation, is now under fiscal scrutiny.

As reported on www.HipHopRX.com, Singer Wyclef Jean has a non-profit organization, Yele Haiti, that is raising unds in aid of Haiti after the country’s tragic earthquake and and so far, the organization has raised over one million dollars for the victims of the devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake through mobile donations alone.

Ever since a powerful and devastating earthquake, that measured a 7.0 on the scale, struck the impoverished Caribbean country Haiti on January 12, blogs, websites and people everywhere are doing what they can to help the country which has already been through a reported economic struggle since 2004. One of the people stepping up definitely is Haitian multi-platinum musician, rapper and recording artist Wyclef Jean from the hip hop group Fugees which also included members Lauryn Hill, and rapper Pras Michel. Wyclef, though Brooklyn-raised is Haitian-born, so has definitely taken this natural disaster to his homeland to heart.
